  5. Designed for single-channel synchronous connectivity, the Hostess S is an
  6. economical, two-port, non-intelligent controller intended for use in
  7. ISA-compatible PCs. It is ideal for users who do not require the power of an
  8. on-board processor. Port one is configureable as RS-232 or RS-422 synchronous
  9. or asynchronous, and port two is configureable as RS-232 synchronous or
  10. RS-232/422 asynchronous. The Hostess S operates at speeds up to 256Kb and uses
  11. host system DMA channels for data transfer. A DB25 and a DB9 connector are
  12. standard, with an optional DB25 connector available for the second port. A
  13. security PAL is optional.
