  7. CD Studio is a total CD recordable solution that creates CD-ROMS on UNIX
  8. workstations.  This integrated system consists of MakeDisc premastering
  9. software, the CD Studio intelligent controller, and one of the many currently
  10. available CD recordable units (Philips, Kodak, Sony, etc.) MakeDisc enables
  11. the user to format data sets for ISO 9660 compliant CD-ROM production,
  12. providing transparent recovery of original UNIX file names, directories, and
  13. symbolic links.  The graphical user interface makes it simple for even the
  14. novice user to professionally produce, format, and test their own CD-ROM disc
  15. images before cutting the disc.  Once MakeDisc sends the data to the
  16. intelligent controller, the workstation is free for other processing.  The
  17. controller handles all of the communications with the writer, maintaining a
  18. sustained data transfer rate, making CD Studio the most reliable CD recordable
  19. system available today.
