  7. Hostess 550/MC buffered multiport serial controllers offer the performance of
  8. intelligent controllers without the increased cost or complexity. They are for
  9. use in MCA-compatible systems and come in 4-, 8-, and 16-port models. Onboard
  10. 16550 UARTs provide data buffering which reduces the number of system
  11. interrupts and increases system throughput. Hostess 550/MC controllers can
  12. connect up to 16 asynchronous serial devices, such as terminals and printers,
  13. to a single PC expansion slot. Increase ports to 64 by installing up to four
  14. controllers to the system. Select from RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, and RS-232
  15. Current Loop interfaces with DB9, DB25, or RJ45 connectors.
