  7. The APC-EIX Advanced Protocol Controller is an intelligent multiple-protocol
  8. communications controller.  It features a LAPB coprocessor on each of two
  9. physical channels to perform X.25 error correction and flow control.  Each
  10. channel has a software-selectable RS-232C, RS-449/422, and X.21 electrical
  11. interface.  The RS-449/422 and X.21 interfaces support data rates up to 45
  12. Mbps.  Other features include 128 KB of on-board RAM for frame buffering and
  13. digital phase-locked loop circuitry for back-to-back connection.  Either
  14. channel may be programmed to support CCITT LAPB/HDLC or IBM SDLC.  The APC-EIX
  15. is suitable for applications demanding the highest performance with minimum
  16. burden on the host CPU.  It is ideal for T1/E1 full-rate data links, fiber
  17. optic data links, LAN-to-DDN or -PDN gateways, or wide-area RFS/NFS.  ADAX
  18. offers both LAPB and HDLC drivers for the APC-EIX, as well as X.25 for UNIX
  19. high-level X.25 networking software (please refer to the software section of
  20. this catalogue for a description).
