  9. types of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), MULTI LIMS for
  10. analytical laboratories such as contract labs performing environmental testing
  11. and CONTROL LIMS which addresses the needs of QA/QC laboratories monitoring
  12. continuous and batch operations.  Both products utilize the Ingres relational
  13. database management system, enabling them to run on various mini computer
  14. platforms and a variety of operating systems.  MULTI LIMS controls data
  15. through each stage:  automated sample log-in, establishment of work
  16. priorities, automated data entry, sample tracking, multilevel validation,
  17. operator-customized reports and invoices.  Simple menus drive the system; the
  18. laboratory staff doesn't need computer expertise or tedious training to
  19. operate MULTI LIMS.  CONTROL LIMS easily captures, tracks, and reports
  20. results, starting with the analysis of incoming raw materials and continuing
  21. through the final product shipment, incorporating all aspect of true quality
  22. control management.
