  10. handling of samples, manages analytical results, and generates client
  11. analytical services reports. The system utilizes a commercial SQL-based
  12. database management system running on a host computer for data storage and
  13. retrieval. The host machine is networked with a variety of workstations, X
  14. terminals, and personal computers to effect user interaction with the system.
  15. Data entry screens are based on the X Window System, MOTIF GUI. Application
  16. programs are written in the C and C++ programming languages. UNIX is the
  17. preferred operating system.
