- _Z_g_r_e_p is used to invoke the _g_r_e_p on compress'ed or gzip'ed
- files. All options specified are passed directly to _g_r_e_p. If
- no file is specified, then the standard input is
- decompressed if necessary and fed to grep. Otherwise the
- given files are uncompressed if necessary and fed to _g_r_e_p.

- If _z_g_r_e_p is invoked as _z_e_g_r_e_p or _z_f_g_r_e_p then _e_g_r_e_p or _f_g_r_e_p
- is used instead of _g_r_e_p. If the GREP environment variable is
- set, _z_g_r_e_p uses it as the _g_r_e_p program to be invoked. For
- example:

- for csh: (setenv GREP fgrep; zgrep string files)
