  10.   This document covers important installation and configuration information. 
  11.  
  12.   This is a shareware distribution of IPX & SPX Custom Controls.  IPX & SPX 
  13.   Custom Controls are for use with Microsoft Visual Basic and Visual C++.  
  14.   With these controls you may create applications that can communicate as 
  15.   clients and/or servers on Novell NetWare networks.

  17. Installation Directions
  18. --------------------------------- 
  19.   Create a subdirectory on your hard drive and copy the zip file into it.
  20.   Unzip the files using the -d option to create the subdirectories for the 
  21.   three example applications.
  22.   Copy IPX.SPX and SPX.VBX into the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory.  
  23.   The evaluation version contains a fully functional IPX control, the SPX
  24.   control will not load in the design environment.
  25.   The sample applications can then be run by double-clicking on the 
  26.   executables in File Manager, or by using the File/Run option in Program 
  27.   Manager.

  30. Important Program Notes

  32.   The IPX.VBX and SPX.VBX require that the workstation be set up as a 
  33.   NetWare client.  This involves loading IPX.COM or IPXODI.COM before 
  34.   starting Windows.  The following lines should be included in the 
  35.   SYSTEM.INI file to properly load network components for Windows.

  43.   The example applications also require the NetWare requester (NETX or 
  44.   VLM) be loaded before starting Windows.  The applications make several 
  45.   calls through the requester and NWCALLS.DLL to locate other users on 
  46.   the network.
