- This archive contains the March '93 Windows NT console version of
- MicroEMACS 3.11. Why a console version? Some of us command line
- jockies don't want a GUI editor; spending most of our time in the
- CLI cobbling up code for NT.
-
- Also in this ZIP file you will find the tweaked sources for this port,
- including the Makefile and an EMACS.RC file. NTCON.C contains all of
- the NT dependant code gluing MicroEMACS to a console. Feel free to
- modify, fix or twiddle the code yourself. If you make any useful or
- significant changes, please pass them back to me as this is a rather
- plain port. In some places I didn't bother with #ifdef WINNT, so
- beware. :-)
-
- Due to personal preference the following changes where made to
- the defaults:
-
- - buffer windows are not pop ups
- - yank leaves the point at the place of insertion
- - safe saves are disabled (kludge around a `bug')
- - tabs are set every 4 spaces
-
- As well, various small tweaks where made all over the source code
- to remove warnings and make it more palatable to a modern compiler.
-
- Copy the ME.EXE executable and EMACS.RC files into a directory in your
- path. Use "me" or "start me" to run MicroEMACS from a command window.
- The console window can be sized or made full screen and MicroEMACS will
- adjust accordingly (NT's console API made this rather painless to
- implement).
-
- Full documentation and related files for MicroEMACS itself can be found
