  1.   The following files are pre-release versions of the
  2.   Win32(tm) Application Programing Interface.  Microsoft
  3.   is providing these files in pre-release form to give
  4.   Windows developers a chance to review and understand
  5.   the changes between the Windows 3.x API and the Win32
  6.   API.  These files may be redistributed without fee
  7.   in unmodified form subject to the copyright statement,
  8.   which is the first topic in the help overview.

  10.   The help files are provided in two forms:  API32WH.HLP
  11.   for use with WinHelp, and API32QH.HLP for use with
  12.   QuickHelp and the Programmer's Workbench.  Because these
  13.   files are over 2MB each, they are available here
  14.   in pieces, API32W.001 through .004 and API32Q.001
  15.   through .004.  Download the files in pieces, and also
  16.   download COMBIN.BAT which will combine the pieces to
  17.   recreate the original file.

  19.   If you are not a Windows 3.1 beta site and you wish to use
  20.   the api32wh.hlp file, you will need  to download the 
  21.   wh307c.zip file, and unpack it to re-create a version 
  22.   of winhelp.exe which will read it. The beta Windows 3.1 
  23.   WinHelp.exe programs should also read api32wh.hlp, and 
  24.   the wh307c.zip version should read Windows 3.0 help files.
