  3. Installation Instructions....

  5. The unregisterd version of VB Data Companion does not come with 
  6. a setup and installation procedure. To do so would increase the 
  7. download time of the zip file considerably.
  8.  
  9. To avoid any setup and execution problems I would recommend you 
  10. did the following procedure...
  11.  
  12. 1. Unzip DC.ZIP to a directory of your choice eg. c:\dc
  13.  
  14. 2. Move the VBX and DLL files to your windows\system directory
  15.  
  16. 3. Make an Icon on your desktop with the Windows Program Manager 
  17.  
  18.  
  19. VB Data Companion provides the VB programmer with all the 
  20. utilities necessary to create, maintain, and query Access 1.1 
  21. Databases. VB Data Companion allows the VB programmer to easily 
  22. manipulate the data dictionary of an Access database, and to 
  23. perform common maintenance on the Dictionary without having to 
  24. write programs. It also has a powerful SQL Query By Example tool, 
  25. enabling you to build complex SQL statements simply by 
  26. pointing and dragging objects across the screen. VB Data 
  27. Companion also allows the programmer to edit the contents of a 
  28. returned SQL Dynaset in a fully editable grid. If you develop 
  29. programs with VB 3.0 and want to work with Access Databases, 
  30. then VB Data Companion is indispensable !
