  1. NetWare API test for Visual Basic for Windows (NWTEST)

  5. This example program illustrates how to use the NetWare Interface for
  6. Visual Basic (NIVB).  NIVB.ZIP can be downloaded from Compuserve's NOVLIB
  7. forum.
  8.  
  9. NIVB is based on the NetWare C Interface for Windows Software Development
  10. Kit (SDK), version 1.3 of the NetWare DLLs.  A copy of the DLLs is included
  11. with this archive.  All API functions except IPX/SPX are supported.

  13. The SDK is available through Novell's Professional Developer's Program 
  14. (PDP).  For information on becoming a member of the PDP and obtaining 
  15. Novell SDKs, call 1-800-RED-WORD (800-733-9673) or 512-794-1796.  The SDK 
  16. includes documentation for the APIs in the Windows DLLs, so to program 
  17. to NIVB, you will need the SDK.

  19. NIVB is not supported through Novell's regular Technical Support
  20. channels.  It is mostly untested, and therefore Novell makes no warranty
  21. of its merchantability or fitness for any purpose.

  23. NIVB was developed by Novell's Systems Research Department, publishers of
  24. NetWare Application Notes.  An Application Note on NIVB will be published 
  25. in the July '93 issue.  Also, look for an extensive example program (called
  26. NWTEST) that illustrates how to use the interface.

  28. Barring unforseen circumstances, Systems Research will (someday real
  29. soon) publish a version of NIVB based on the NetWare 4.0 Client SDK, with 
  30. support for NetWare 4.0 and NetWare Directory Services (NDS).
