- RELEASE 1.20 NOTE:
- The real major change in this version is that the
- interface is changed and it works in any resolution.
- The program now supports complete use of the keyboard.
- Also when you choose Restart you don't have to start
- a new game, you can choose no and you will be returned.
- The graphics of the squares are not as nice as before,
- but that was the reason it did not look right in any
- other resolution besides 640X480. So when I get all the
- bugs out, I will redo the graphics to look better.
- Another change is that this version knows when you have
- completely filled all the squares and declares it a
- draw. Also this version not only shows either Player 1
- or Player 2, but also shows in a small box in the bottom
- right corner, the letter that the player is using, like
- X or O. The RESTART command now will reset the scores
- and start a whole new game. Also there is a HELP command
- that gives you quick information about what each option
- on the menu will do.
-
- Keys for use with keyboard (Numlock must be on while using numeric keypad):
- To select a menu item, just hit ALT + underlined letter in the choices name.
- 7 8 9
- 4 5 6 Hit the number that corresponds to the box you want selected.
- 1 2 3
-
- This program is just a computerized version of the old game everyone has
- played a few times in their lives. Just to make sure you know the rules
- still I will give you a short explanation. The object of the game is to
- place either an X or O in one of the spaces and try to get three of them
- in a row either horizontal, vertical or diagonal. Of course you cannot put
- an X or O overtop of a space that contains an X or O already. If you get
- tired of the current game you are playing then you should click on the
- command RESTART on the menu bar and you will be asked if you would like to
- start over, click on YES or NO. Choosing YES will reset the number of games
- won and start over. At the bottom of the screen is two info boxes, the top
- one tells you whos turn it is, the bottom one tells how many games each
- player has one. The menu command ABOUT just gives you a little information
- about the program. Selecting EXIT from the menu will pop-up a small window
- asking if you are sure you wish to quit. There is also a menu choice called
- Help that will give you help on commands. To place an X or O in a space all
- you have to do is click on it, if you try to put one in a space that is
- already filled you will hear a little clicking sound that means that you
- can't put one there. When someone gets three in a row another small window
- comes up and declares the winner and asks you if you would like to play
- again, and if you answer YES you should notice at the bottom of the main
- windows in the info box the number increases for the number of times a
- person has won. Player 1 is O's and Player 2 is X's. The only thing I ask
- you to do if you use this program and like it a little bit or have some
- comments or problems then either send me a letter with your name, address
- and phone number or leave me a message on the BBS listed at the end of this
- document and from then on you will be informed of new versions and new
- programs. This is one of my first programming projects in a Windows type
