  3. Though the entries in the Combo box suggest that you're
  4. choosing between different forums, that combo box is 
  5. supposed to let you choose among threads in the message 
  6. file of a SINGLE forum.

  8. You should also be aware that this form is adapted from a 
  9. form the I/O team has been using for testing. It is not the
  10. Browser team's form--in fact, Charlie Gallo won't get to
  11. see it until he downloads it from CompuServe just as you
  12. have.

  14. The control buttons at the bottom of the text box give you
  15. some hint of the function we propose: The user will be 
  16. able to look at messages by THREAD or by SESSION. What
  17. we expect most users to do is look at the latest session 
  18. they've had on CompuServe. When he needs to see the con-
  19. text of a particular session, the user can click on the View
  20. Session/View Thread/View All button (the caption changes to 
  21. reflect the current state). Though he still sees the same
  22. message, clicking on the First, Previous, Next, and Last 
  23. buttons will move him up and down the *thread*, not the 
  24. session.

  26. Setting the state to View All lets the user see all the 
  27. messages in his database. It will function exactly like 
  28. TAPCIS does now--sequentially grinding through the entire
  29. forum file.
