  13. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:  
  14. Failure to use this PTF in heavily loaded token ring environments may result in the following types
  15. of errors.  
  16.         1.  Workstations hang with "X()" in the status line.  
  17.         2.  Gateway displays a Free Error and a Register Dump.  
  18.         3.  Workstations hang with a "504 Server Down" message.  
  19.         4.  Gateway locks when accessed by multiple workstations coming through an Internal or  
  20. External bridge.

  22. RESOLUTION:  
  23. This IPX.COM shell has been generated specifically for Netware LANs using IBM Token-Ring
  24. adapters only.  
  25.   
  26. In a token ring environment this shell MUST be used on the gateway servers and is recommended for
  27. all workstations accessing the gateway.  This shell was created using Novell IPX/SPX v3.01 Rev. B
  28. (900605) and IBM LAN Support Program Driver V2.60 (900731).  Hardware Configuration: Self
  29. Configurable.

  31. To Use this PTF:  
  32. Copy the IPX.COM over the existing like file, in the appropriate boot directory.  No reconfiguration
  33. is required.   It MUST be used in conjunction with IBM LAN Support.
