  1. This README file accompanies NetBIOS v3.01 rev. F.  The following files is

  6. This version of NetBIOS corrects a problem where a machine would hang if
  7. packet size and number of buffers exceeded the 64 Kb data segment size. 
  8. Packet size multiplied by number of buffers should not exceed 64 Kb.  If the
  9. data segment size is exceeded in this version, NetBIOS will decrease the
  10. packet size to bring the product within the 64 Kb limit.  If this is not
  11. desirable, you must decrease the number of buffers in the SHELL.CFG file.

  13. In this version performance was increased in several ways, including an
  14. enhancement allowing every session an equal opportunity for resources.

  16. Also CancelECB has been enabled; it was previously disabled because of errors
  17. in older (previous to October 1989) LAN drivers.  If an older LAN driver is
  18. used and you get the error "Free IPX block failed," you can use NetBIOS v2.15
  19. rev. C or obtain a LAN driver certified after September 1989.

  21. NetBIOS v3.01f should replace any previous versions of Novell's NetBIOS on 
  22. your network.
