  3. Shareware
  4. -------------------------
  5. Shareware is method of marketing software that allows you, the
  6. user, to evaluate the software on your own system to determine
  7. whether or not it meets your needs before you make an investment. 
  8. In addition, shareware allows authors to charge much less for
  9. their programs than their retail counterparts because there are
  10. little or no marketing expenses.  Note that while both authors
  11. and users benefit from successful shareware, that success is
  12. entirely dependent on you.  Your registration allows us to
  13. continue supporting and enhancing the program.

  15. The Mnu is a copyrighted program being marketed as shareware.  It
  16. is NOT public domain nor "freeware".  If you decide to use The
  17. Mnu after the 21-day evaluation period you are required to
  18. register.  Continued use of The Mnu after the evaluation period
  19. is over is a violation of copyright law.  Even if The Mnu does
  20. not meet all of your needs, you must register IF you continue to
  21. use the program after the 21-day evaluation period is over.  Note
  22. that while you are legally required to register, in practice you
  23. are on your honor to register.

  25. Price Schedule
  26. -------------------------
  27.      Basic Registration            $85 per server
  28.      Update Mail Service           $20/yr

  30. On registration, you will receive a perpetual license to use the
  31. programs on one file server.  You will also receive the most
  32. current version of the program.  You will be provided with a
  33. serial number and registration code to entered onto your system
  34. via MnuInst.  
  35.  
  36. Update/Upgrade Policies
  37. -------------------------
  38. All updates are provided at no cost. Please note that an update
  39. is a minor revision (ex. X.24 to X.25) and will normally contain
  40. minor enhancements and bug fixes. All updates will be posted on
  41. CompuServe for downloading. Registered users who did not purchase
  42. the Update Mail Service will be notified via EasyPlex when an
  43. update becomes available. Those who purchase the Update Mail
  44. Service will have the update shipped to them automatically.

  46. Upgrades will be available for an additional fee. Please note
  47. that an upgrade is a major revision (ex. 1.XX to 2.XX) and will
  48. contain major enhancements. Upgrade fees will be determined at
  49. the time that the upgrade becomes available.
