  1. This README file accompanies ZAPOBJ for SFT NetWare v2.15c.  The following
  2. files are included for this patch:

  4.       SFT      FIX      2462 04-11-90   8:00a      (for 3.5" media)
  5.       SFT_1    FIX      1178 04-11-90  12:34p      (for 5.25" media)
  6.       SFT_2    FIX       620 04-11-90  12:34p      (for 5.25" media)
  7.       TTS      FIX      1572 05-15-90   2:44p      (for 3.5" media)
  8.       TTS_1    FIX      1178 05-15-90   2:39p      (for 5.25" media)
  9.       TTS_2    FIX       786 05-15-90  12:03p      (for 5.25" media)

  13. ZAPOBJ allows a removable read/write drive to be added to a system with existing
  14. mirrored or duplexed drives.  ZAPOBJ.EXE is run against a .OBJ file using a .FIX
  15. parameter file.  Parameter files containing temporary fixes (ie. *.FIX) are
  16. supplied for both 3.5" and 5.25" media.

  19. To implement ZAPOBJ:
  20.  
  21. 1)    Copy the files included with this patch to a working directory.
  22.  
  23. 2)    For a 3.5" media system, do the following:
  24.  
  25.       a)    Copy SFT.OBJ to the working directory from the SFTOBJ subdirectory
  26.             of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  27.  
  28.       b)    Copy TTS.OBJ to the working directory from the TTSOBJ subdirectory
  29.             of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  30.  
  31.             CAUTION: It is strongly recommended that you make backup copies of
  32.             all .OBJ files to be patched in this process.
  33.  
  34.       c)    Execute the following commands:
  35.  
  36.             ZAPOBJ SFT.OBJ NEWSFT.OBJ SFT.FIX
  37.             ZAPOBJ TTS.OBJ NEWTTS.OBJ TTS.FIX
  38.  
  39.             If ZAPOBJ is successful, a message will be issued to that effect.  
  40.  
  41.       d)    Copy NEWSFT.OBJ and NEWTTS.OBJ to the corresponding SFTOBJ and TTSOBJ
  42.             subdirectories under INSTALL.  Rename them to SFT.OBJ and TTS.OBJ
  43.             respectively.
  44.  
  45.       OR    For a 5.25" media system, do the following:
  46.  
  47.       a)    Copy SFT_1.OBJ to the working directory from the SFTOBJ subdirectory
  48.             of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  49.  
  50.       b)    Copy TTS_1.OBJ to the working directory from the TTSOBJ subdirectory
  51.             of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  52.  
  53.       c)    Copy SFT_2.OBJ and TTS_2.OBJ to the working directory from the OSOBJ
  54.             subdirectory of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.

  56.             CAUTION: It is strongly recommended that you make backup copies of
  57.             all .OBJ files to be patched in this process.

  59.       d)    Execute the following commands:
  60.  
  61.             ZAPOBJ SFT_1.OBJ NEWSFT_1.OBJ SFT_1.FIX
  62.             ZAPOBJ TTS_1.OBJ NEWTTS_1.OBJ TTS_1.FIX
  63.             ZAPOBJ SFT_2.OBJ NEWSFT_2.OBJ SFT_2.FIX
  64.             ZAPOBJ TTS_2.OBJ NEWTTS_2.OBJ TTS_2.FIX

  66.             If ZAPOBJ is successful, a message will be issued to that effect.  
  67.  
  68.       e)    Copy NEWSFT_1.OBJ and NEWTTS_1.OBJ to the corresponding SFTOBJ and
  69.             TTSOBJ subdirectories under INSTALL.  Rename them to SFT_1.OBJ and
  70.             TTS_1.OBJ respectively.
  71.  
  72.       f)    Copy NEWSFT_2.OBJ and NEWTTS_2.OBJ to the OSOBJ subdirectory under
  73.             INSTALL.  Rename them to SFT_2.OBJ and TTS_2.OBJ respectively.
  74.       
  75. 3)    Execute NETGEN and ensure that the "Link/Configure NetWare Operating
  76.       System" option is selected and that NET$OS.EXE is copied to your network
  77.       drive during "NetWare Installation".  
  78.  
  79. 4)    Boot the server.  The system will indicate that the fix has been applied
  80.       by displaying the message "Netware Release for PTF00001".  
  81.  
  82.       CAUTION: Implement this fix on a low-use or non-production server before
  83.       implementing it on all SFT NetWare v2.15c servers in your installation.
