  6. GENERAL
  7. INFORMATION:   According to the product manager for 386 LAN drivers, 
  8.                Novell's stand on workstation drivers for the NE3200 and 
  9.                NE2-32 boards has not changed and is as follows:

  11.                There are no current plans to provide workstation drivers 
  12.                for either the 286 or the 386 environment.  Because these 
  13.                boards are considered high-end file server cards and 
  14.                marketing does not anticipate a large demand for these cards 
  15.                to be used in workstations.

  17.                This isn't only a marketing issue.
  18.  
  19.                DOS is a 16-bit OS, as are OS/2 and NetWare 286.  As we all 
  20.                know, this means they push data around 16 bits at a time.  
  21.                Right?  There is no way they would benefit significantly 
  22.                from 32-bit LAN cards.  Some recent benchmarks in PC 
  23.                Magazine showed that the Compaq Systempro's 32-bit drive 
  24.                array actually slowed DOS down!  So the moral of the story 
  25.                is 32-bit cards are for the 32-bit OS.  There is really only 
  26.                one.
