  8. GENERAL INFORMATION  : We have seen some problems with getting errors during
  9. Vrepair that say "Error at directory  entry <XXXXX> Primary and mirror copies
  10. of directory entry disagree".  This is a normal message to encounter while
  11. running Vrepair. However, when the utility asks if you want to write the
  12. corrections to disk and you say 'yes' the volume will still not mount.  When
  13. re-running Vrepair you get the same messages as though the corrections were
  14. never written to disk.  This error may be caused by drivers that won't
  15. recognize multiple volume segments, bad firmware on the drive, or some other
  16. hardware problem in the drive channel. We have requested and had commitment
  17. from Engineering to enhance the Vrepair so it will give a message if the
  18. corrections were not written properly.
