- PROBLEM : 1) Print jobs disappearing from the queue.
-
- 2) Print queues themselves disappearing.
-
- SOLUTION : 1) If print jobs are disappearing and not getting printed the
- problem is usually faulty printer hardware. The job is sent to the printer
- but because of a hardware problem it drops off into nowhere (sometimes
- referred to as the "bit bucket"). Check the pinouts to make sure they are
- correct. Other things that can cause this problem are sheet feeders, and
- hardware switches installed between the printer port and the printer.
-
- This problem happens mostly on serial printers.
-
- 2) If the print queue is actually disappearing then see if the customer is
- running WordPerfect when it happens. We have had this reported by
- WordPerfect users. See if they are capturing from WordPerfect. If so, then
- have them print to the LPT port instead and use the CAPTURE command to
- control printing to the network.
