  9. INFORMATION  :  Using a workstation as a Dec terminal through the
  10. serial port on the workstation.  The DeConnect cables have the MMJ connector.

  12. PROBLEM  :  Correct Pin-out

  14. SOLUTION  :  The correct pin-out is:

  16. 25-pin serial    9-pin serial        MMJ

  18. 3               2               5  Yellow
  19. 2               3               2  Black
  20. 7               5               1  White (Orange)
  21. 6               6               6  Blue (Brown)
  22. 4               7             3 & 4  Red & Green

  25. COMMENTS (Optional) : I have the 9 pin variant running in several
  26. places, not the 25 pin, but this is a standard 9 to 25 conversion
  27. to derive those.  The MMJ cables were originally plugged into the
  28. backs of VT-320 CRTs.  I had called DEC, and they gave me four
  29. posible pin outs, all of which did not work.  The pin outs above
  30. took four hours to find and test completely.  I know that DEC has
  31. these converters available pre-made, and I did try one, but again
  32. it did not work.  Hope that this info is helpful to someone.
