  14. Symptom:      When running the MACSETUP program and updating the print 
  15.               or file server VAPs, the error message "ERROR preparing 
  16.               desktop.  Make sure all users are logged off the server 
  17.               and then retry this command,"  is issued.
  18.  
  19. Problem:      This error has nothing to do with the desktop.  MACSETUP 
  20.               is trying to write over the .HLD files in the system 
  21.               subdirectory and can't because they're flagged RO.  
  22.  
  23. Solution or 
  24. Work-around:  Go to the system subdirectory and flag all the VAPs RW 
  25.               (read write) by typing:

  27.               F:SYSTEM> flag *.v* rw
