  6. PROBLEM:       A customer, running NetWare 386 v3.1 on an AST 486/25 EISA
  7.                machine, was receiving GPI and NMI parity errors.  They
  8.                couldn't mount volume SYS and mirroring was constantly going
  9.                out of sync.  The problem was the AST memory board. 
  10.  
  11.                They actually had an OEM version of the memory board made by
  12.                another company.  The simms on the board say "memory made
  13.                for AST".  There's nothing wrong with the board.  They are
  14.                just boards that are incompatible in AST machines.

  16. SOLUTION:      They put in a true AST board and it worked fine.
