  6. GENERAL
  7. INFORMATION:   The file server has a function (the watchdog timer) that     
  8.                will check any connection that has been idle for five
  9.                minutes to see if it can get a response from that
  10.                connection.  If it cannot, it will then, at one minute
  11.                intervals, attempt to get a response from that connection. 
  12.                If at the end of 10 minute period (15 minutes total) it does
  13.                not get a response, it will close the connection.

  15. COMMENTS:      If you are interested in seeing watchdog work, there is a
  16.                program on NetWire that will monitor watchdog called
  17.                WATCHDOG.ARC in Forum NOVA LIB 06.  (Watchdog comes with a
  18.                explanation file and will work on NetWare 286 v2.0 and
  19.                above.)
