- GENERAL
- INFORMATION: The file server has a function (the watchdog timer) that
- will check any connection that has been idle for five
- minutes to see if it can get a response from that
- connection. If it cannot, it will then, at one minute
- intervals, attempt to get a response from that connection.
- If at the end of 10 minute period (15 minutes total) it does
- not get a response, it will close the connection.

- COMMENTS: If you are interested in seeing watchdog work, there is a
- program on NetWire that will monitor watchdog called
- WATCHDOG.ARC in Forum NOVA LIB 06. (Watchdog comes with a
- explanation file and will work on NetWare 286 v2.0 and
- above.)
