- PROBLEM: A customer was getting a "Signature not found" error running
- an SMC PS110 in an IBM PS/2 Model 80 under NetWare 286
- v2.15. We determined they had a conflict with the VGA
- memory address and had them choose another option. The file
- server then came up and we loaded monitor and everything
- seemed fine until we tried logging in from an IBM PS/2 Model
- 25 workstation. We kept getting "File server not found"
- errors and suspected conflicts with the SMC 130e at the
- workstation.
-
- SOLUTION: After fruitless time spent trying to resolve the issue, we
- had them go back to the file server and type "CONFIG" and
- compare the information with what the IBM Reference was
- saying. Surprisingly, the OS was configured for IRQ 2 and
- reference was indicating the card at IRQ 3. We then made
- the appropriate change to the OS and all was well.
