  6. GENERAL
  7. INFORMATION:   We had a customer that thought he was having the Read Only
  8.                Compatibility problem using his database application on a
  9.                NetWare 386 v3.1 file server.  When he has a record open and
  10.                a second user tries to access it, he gets a "File not found"
  11.                error.  We checked to see if he was flagging the file RO as
  12.                a file locking method.  He wasn't, so this "feature" doesn't
  13.                apply in this case.  Everything was working with NetWare 386
  14.                v3.0 and he started having problems when he upgraded to
  15.                NetWare 386 v3.1.

  17.                The files do not necessarily have to be flagged RO.  It will
  18.                still have the access problem if the file is flagged RW, but
  19.                the effective rights to that file are read but not write
  20.                (directory rights).
