- GENERAL
- INFORMATION: We had a customer that thought he was having the Read Only
- Compatibility problem using his database application on a
- NetWare 386 v3.1 file server. When he has a record open and
- a second user tries to access it, he gets a "File not found"
- error. We checked to see if he was flagging the file RO as
- a file locking method. He wasn't, so this "feature" doesn't
- apply in this case. Everything was working with NetWare 386
- v3.0 and he started having problems when he upgraded to
- NetWare 386 v3.1.
-
- The files do not necessarily have to be flagged RO. It will
- still have the access problem if the file is flagged RW, but
- the effective rights to that file are read but not write
- (directory rights).
