  1. This README file accompanies CONNFIX2.  The following file(s) is included for 
  2. this patch:

  4.       CONNFIX2.EXE        8990 bytes        06-01-90

  6. CONNFIX2.EXE is a patch utility that modifies the SERVER.EXE file of NetWare 
  7. 386 v3.0.  Some applications using an older NetWare function call to map a 
  8. user to a connection list caused confusion between nearly identical user 
  9. names.  These are names which are identical with the exception of the last 
  10. character (for example, SAMS and SAMR).   CONNFIX2 also corrects an anomaly 
  11. in CONNFIX which causes a General Protection Interrupt when some applications 
  12. are run.

  15. To implement CONNFIX2: 
  16.   
  17. 1)    Copy CONNFIX2.EXE into the same directory as SERVER.EXE. 
  18.  
  19. 2)    Type CONNFIX2.  The program will patch the file and notify you when 
  20.       finished.  
  21.  
  22. CONNFIX2 replaces the previous version of CONNFIX.  If you have already run 
  23. CONNFIX, CONNFIX2 will fix the GPI problem caused by CONNFIX.  If CONNFIX has 
  24. not been run previously, CONNFIX2 will make all the necessary adjustments to 
  25. SERVER.EXE.

  30. Novell's intentions for this software patch is to provide a temporary
  31. work-around to the anomalies described in this file.  Such work-arounds are
  32. typically addressed in future releases of NetWare.  Novell strongly recommends
  33. a backup be made before any patch is applied.
