-
- PROBLEM DESCRIPTIONS:
- From PTF 202
- 1. Data is lost when printing to a remote printer or spool file.
- 2. Dialback does not terminate a session when a connection is not made.
- 3. During modem initialization on a port configured for Auto Modem, a user
- supplied supplementary command string following the Modem Initialization
- String is ignored by the modem.
- 4. Screen updates do not occur at the remote workstation if the Access
- Server is busy. This occurs when the application writes to the screen
- buffer.
- From PTF 209
- 5. When booting the Access Server either from a hard drive or a floppy
- disk, it fails to boot and displays either "Exception 13" or "Exception 15"
- error message.
- 6. Expanded Memory Manager applications acquire all the available memory,
- limiting the number of available access server sessions.
- From PTF 225
- 7. Problems displaying the "view document" feature of Word Perfect.
- 8. Problems transferring files with ONFILE when not specifying a
- destination address.
- 9. Some dumb terminals were not able to print properly.
- From PTF 238
- 10. Some modems were occasionally not resetting immediately to Auto Answer
- after disconnecting. Access Server nevertheless showed the port as in call
- waiting status although the modems had not actually been initialized.
- 11. The control codes for some printers were being printed.
- NEWLY COVERED BY THIS PTF
- 12. After the installation of PTF 238 some modems disappeared from the
- list.
-
- RESOLUTION:
- 1,2,3 & 4. Installation of this PTF (or PTFs 202 or 209) will correct.
- 5. These errors are caused by BIOS problems related to the NetWare shell.
- To correct this problem recreate the shell generation (SHGEN) program using
- the IPX.OBJ provided with this PTF.
- 6. Expanded Memory Manager applications now acquire only 400K of expanded
- memory.
- 7. & 8. Installation of this PTF will correct.
- 9. Software flow control is implemented (for printers only).
- 10. NASCP.EXE was changed to correct the problem.
- 11. ONLAN.EXE and ONLANLAP.EXE were changed to correct the problem.
- 12. NASCP.EXE and NASGEN.EXE were modified to allow space for the missing
- modem they will again be available as choices.

- 3. Copy all of the files of this PTF (other than ONLAN and ONLANLAP) onto

- 5. Erase everything from the Access Server's drive so that nothing will
- remain from prior Access Server installations.
- 6. Do a "first time installation".
- 7. After completing installation but before bringing the Access Server up,
- modify the RAM disk size by:
- A. Copying LOGIN.EXE file from diskette to File Server, LOGIN

- - For a hard drive Access Server on the ram drive line of
- CONFIG.SYS
- - For a floppy drive Access Server on the second ram drive line
- of CONFIG.SYS
- NOTE: Step 7 is very important. Failure to perform this step will
