  15. PROBLEM DESCRIPTIONS: 
  16. From PTF 202
  17. 1. Data is lost when printing to a remote printer or spool file.
  18. 2. Dialback does not terminate a session when a connection is not made.
  19. 3. During modem initialization on a port configured for Auto Modem, a user
  20. supplied supplementary command string following the Modem Initialization
  21. String is ignored by the modem. 
  22. 4. Screen updates do not occur at the remote workstation if the Access
  23. Server is busy.  This occurs when the application writes to the screen
  24. buffer.
  25. From PTF 209
  26. 5. When booting the Access Server either from a hard drive or a floppy
  27. disk, it fails to boot and displays either "Exception 13" or "Exception 15"
  28. error message. 
  29. 6.  Expanded Memory Manager applications acquire all the available memory,
  30. limiting the number of available access server sessions.
  31. From PTF 225 
  32. 7.  Problems displaying the "view document" feature of Word Perfect. 
  33. 8.  Problems transferring files with ONFILE when not specifying a
  34. destination address.
  35. 9.  Some dumb terminals were not able to print properly.
  36. From PTF 238
  37. 10. Some modems were occasionally not resetting immediately to Auto Answer
  38. after disconnecting.  Access Server nevertheless showed the port as in call
  39. waiting status although the modems had not actually been initialized.
  40. 11. The control codes for some printers were being printed.
  41. NEWLY COVERED BY THIS PTF
  42. 12. After the installation of PTF 238 some modems disappeared from the
  43. list. 
  44.  
  45. RESOLUTION: 
  46. 1,2,3 & 4. Installation of this PTF (or PTFs 202 or 209) will correct.
  47. 5.  These errors are caused by BIOS problems related to the NetWare shell. 
  48. To correct this problem recreate the shell generation (SHGEN) program using
  49. the IPX.OBJ provided with this PTF. 
  50. 6.  Expanded Memory Manager applications now acquire only 400K of expanded
  51. memory. 
  52. 7. & 8. Installation of this PTF will correct. 
  53. 9.  Software flow control is implemented (for printers only).
  54. 10. NASCP.EXE was changed to correct the problem.  
  55. 11. ONLAN.EXE and ONLANLAP.EXE were changed to correct the problem. 
  56. 12. NASCP.EXE and NASGEN.EXE were modified to allow space for the missing
  57. modem they will again be available as choices.

  75. TO USE THE PTF
  76. 1. Make a copy of your master diskette of Access Server Version 1.01.
  77. 2. Copy ONLAN (or ONLANLAP) onto each remote workstation.
  78. 3. Copy all of the files of this PTF (other than ONLAN and ONLANLAP) onto
  79. the copy you made of the master diskette.
  80. 5. Erase everything from the Access Server's drive so that nothing will
  81. remain from prior Access Server installations.
  82. 6. Do a "first time installation".
  83. 7. After completing installation but before bringing the Access Server up,
  84. modify the RAM disk size by:  
  85.      A. Copying LOGIN.EXE file from diskette to File Server, LOGIN
  86.      directory. 
  87.      B. Changing "/P7" to "/P9"
  88.           - For a hard drive Access Server on the ram drive line of
  89.           CONFIG.SYS
  90.           - For a floppy drive Access Server on the second ram drive line
  91.           of CONFIG.SYS 
  92.        NOTE: Step 7 is very important.  Failure to perform this step will  
  93.        result in the error message "UNABLE TO LOAD LOGIN.EXE".  If    this
  94.        error message is received despite increasing to /P9    increase to
  95.        /P10 or /P11.   
  96.  
  97. MAPPING NOTICE:
  98. MAPROOT is not currently supported by Access Server.  Therefore, if your
  99. system uses MAPROOT you will not get the results you expect.
