  4.                      The menu on the left of your screen is the list of  choices
  5.                 you can make while running sPORTt.  Press a function key to make
  6.                 your selection.

  8. F2- Port             Toggles the port number between COM1 and COM2.
  9.  
  10. F3- Options          Set  the  communication options to agree with those of your
  11.                 external device.   Use <RIGHT-ARROW>  or  <LEFT-ARROW> to toggle
  12.                 values.   Press <ESC>  to go back to what you were doing without
  13.                 making any changes.  Press <F10> to save your change.   You must
  14.                 set these correctly in order to succesfully transmit or receive.

  16. F4- RTS              Toggles power  on  or  off  RTS, which is pin 4 on a 25-pin
  17.                 serial connector or pin 7 on a 9-pin connector.
  18.  
  19. F5- DTR              Toggles  power  on  or  off DTR which is pin 20 on a 25-pin
  20.                 serial connector or pin 4 on a 9-pin connector.

  22. F6- ASCII            Changes the format of the data (both incoming and outgoing)
  23.                 in  the  communication  display  window from ASCII to decimal to
  24.                 hexidecimal to binary and back to ASCII.

  28. F7- Send             Asks you  the  name  of  a disk file which you wish to send
  29.                 from  your computer.  Once sPORTt locates the file, it is trans-
  30.                 mitted automatically.  You can close the file at any time during
  31.                 transmission by pressing <F7> again and then <F2>.

  33. F8- Capture          Asks  you for  a name of  a disk file in which to save data
  34.                 transmitted to your computer.  When the transmission is complete
  35.                 the  file  remains  open for more until you close it by pressing
  36.                 <F8> again and then <F2>.

  38. F9- Handshaking      When  you  are  sending  to another device, it may have the
  39.                 capability  of  shutting  down one of the lines, DSR, CD, or CTS
  40.                 when its buffer gets full.   If you know which pin it is, select
  41.                 it by  pressing <F9> and sPORTt will pause when the pin goes off
  42.                 and  start  again when the pin goes on again.   Experiment.  The
  43.                 asterisk points to the handshaking line to be used.
