- Call Waiting
-
- The call-waiting feature found in many homes today can pose a real
- problem for the person interested in data communication. If you are on
- the modem when another call comes in, you will drop the carrier. This
- is particuarly annoying if you are almose done with a large upload or
- download.
-
- This short program will set the Hayes Smartmodem so that it will not
- detect the incoming call. You should run this program before making
- the modem call, and it will remain in effect for that call only.
-
- If your program (Procomm and Qmodem are two examples) resets the modem
- when you start, you should go ahead and get into the communications
- package, use the shell command (ALT-F4 in Procomm) to exit to DOS, run
- CW.BAS and then type EXIT to return to the communications package.
- This will allow you to bypass the modem reset that most good packages
- do when you start them.
-
- If anyone is successful in modifiying this program to work with other
- modems, send a copy of it up for all to use.
