- access to. If you have a HP LaserJet printer and a word processing soft-
- ware package the "sky is the limit" with what papers, forms, memos, banners,
- letters, etc.. can look like. The work you do and the way you present

- to specify different attributes when ordering please read the information
- provide below.

- Fonts and Font Attributes.

- Fonts are a collections of characters and symbols with
- specific attributes such as, TYPEFACE - shape of the character, POINT
- SIZE - size of the character, ORIENTATION - the direction of the print
- either across the page or up and down, SYMBOL SET - specific characters
- that make up the font set and last, DEVICE - what will use the font, a
- screen or HP LaserJet Printer.

- Different Typefaces include:

- 1. Univers - commonly used for text that is technical in nature.
- This typeface has a clean geometric letterform. It can be
- displayed in bold, italic and bold italic fonts.

- 2. CG Times - the most popular typeface in the world. It is most
- popular for sales letters, reports, proposals and manuals.
- Typeface of Univers mix well with CG Times typefaces. It can also
- be displayed in bold, italic and bold italic fonts.

- 3. Brush - is an informal connecting script. This typeface works
- well in headlines and announcements. It is most readable in
- point sizes of 14 or more.

- 4. Dom Casual - is widely used on posters and headlines where a
- strong statement is desired. It works well with the brush
- and other decorative typefaces.

- 5. Park Avenue - this typeface is non-connecting script. It is
- very light and formal. Park Avenue is most widely used for
- announcement, invitations and greeting cards. It is a very
- typeface.

- 6. Unical - this typeface is a style of writing that dates back
- before the Fifth Century. Unical will add emphasis and
- authority to headlines, banners, and titles.

- The Point Size refers to the height of the letter. The height of the
- typeface is measure in points where 72 points are about 1 inch in height and
- 36 points would be about a 1/2 inch in size. All fonts are a specific
- point size. The most common point sizes are 6-8 for footnotes, 10-14 for
- body of text, and 16 and above for headlines and titles. Sizes of 72 or
- more are used for special headlines and banners and require lots of memory.

- The Orientation refers to the direction of print on a page. Fonts can
- be either landscape (across the long-end of the page) or portrait (across
- the short-end of the page).

- Symbol Set refers to the specific alphabetic, numeric, punctuation
- and special symbols in a font. The most common symbol sets are US (ASCII)
- and Roman-8. There are also scientific, math, legal and different
- language symbol sets.

- The Device refers to the hardware which will utilize the font.
- The screen can display different fonts, but fonts can only be displayed
- to the screens of certain applications. Review you application manual
- to see if different fonts can be displayed. Your HP printer is another
- device - soft fonts are down-loaded to your HP printer by the application
- software (MS Word 5.0 or 4.0, Lotus, Pagemaker, Ventura, etc.. ).
- Consult your application software on how to down-load the different fonts
- to your HP printer.

- The font you have down-load has a Typeface of Univers Bold Italic.
- It is for the HP Laser series II Printer and has a 12 Point Size. The
- Symbol Set is ASCII (US), the Orientation is Portrait and the Application is
- MS Word.5. You will have to consult you software manual on how to
- use the font WDFNT.PRD file with your word processor (MS Word.5).
- The use of this Font is FREE if an order of more fonts is made, else
- a $25.00 fee is required for the use of this font. This font is distributed
- under the shareware concept, no duplication or distributions for profit is
- allowed. But, the distribution of this font and documentation to friends
- with HP LaserJet printers is encouraged.
