  2. Welcome to the LsrPrint Utility Version 2.1

  4. This document contains information about the latest release of LsrPrint.
  5.  
  6. LsrPrint is no longer freeware. LsrPrint 2.1 is shareware.  Please
  7. read the LsrPrint.doc manual for more information.

  10. Release 2.1 of LsrPrint contains many new features and enhancements.
  11. Please read the documentation for more detailed information.

  15.  2.1  08/08/90 Substantially increased Dot matrix and custom init/
  16.                reset string support.  Added modes /FB[P,S],  /FI[A,P,S]
  17.                /I2 and /X.  Added /Z parameter.  Converted all code to
  18.                object oriented methodology <finally!!>.
  19.  
  20.  2.0  07/02/90 Introduced modes: /CN, C3, C4.  LsrPrint now displays
  21.                the options in effect during each run (or after the
  22.                help message).  Includes LsReset and Chuck programs.
  23.                Redirect functions on any ASCII text file (also replaces
  24.                Tabs with spaces).

  26.  1.8c 06/21/90 This is a test version distributed to friends and 
  27.                "family" only.  It contains the following enhancements:
  28.                EOL Treatment : the /E parameter
  29.                Mainframe Print file conversion : the /FBA parameter.

  31.  1.7  05/29/90 General release.  Time String on header now is
  32.                zero filled (i.e. 12:01:30 instead of 12:1:30).
  33.                Writing to screen is now done through DOS and not
  34.                directly to video memory.  LsrPrint now will run on
  35.                virtually all weird iron, in multitasker windows,
  36.                and allows redirection of the normal screen output to
  37.                a file (via DOS > redirector).  Added O option (send
  38.                print output to a file) and redirect.exe.

  40.  1.6  05/21/90 Added D (Dos Services) option.  Improved code around
  41.                error detection.  LsrPrint waited a little too patiently
  42.                for your printer (sometimes forever).  Corrected C2
  43.                init string (IBM US was not being set as default
  44.                font).  This release was sent only as a Beta to a 
  45.                few people.

  47.  1.5  05/15/90 C2 option did not work properly on HP P and D models
  48.                due to incorrect init string.  Modified init string
  49.                (see above) to set top margin prior to setting page
  50.                length.  C2 now works properly across HP laser line
  51.                (and compatibles).  Improved code around the job 
  52.                cancellation function (Escape Key).

  54.  1.4  05/10/90 C2 display changed to "Page" type display (looks great).
  55.                C2 defaults for W and L changed to W80 and L66.  M option
  56.                disabled for C2 mode.  Changed fundamental method in which
  57.                data was transmitted to printer  (Rom Bios Int 17).  Error
  58.                detection is improved when writing to a parallel port.
  59.                As long as your PC is sort of IBM-PC compatible everything
  60.                should be fine.  This program was tested on older clone
  61.                machines not known for their compatibility as well as
  62.                using a serial port via a print director.  Added /S
  63.                customization options (See Text for More).

  65.  1.3  05/02/90 C2 parameter added.  Changed defaults to NP from CP and
  66.                Tab Expansion to 8.  This seems to be the preferred 
  67.                default.  (I prefer /C2 /T4 as my defaults). 
  68.                Corrected some default /W parameters.  Changed Header.

  70.  1.2  04/23/90 Bugfix.  It's amazing what test data doesn't catch. 
  71.                The 1.1 Ascii 12 fix had some side effects, including
  72.                not properly counting lines.  The header will now
  73.                appear on the top of the printed form.  Page ejects
  74.                will occur at the proper place.

  76.  1.1  04/17/90 Properly supports the Form Feed (Ascii 12) character
  77.                when printing forms.  Page counts via /# parameter
