- Just received my updaged Glyphix glyph called Rockland and have
- created a sample of regular fonts for your enjoyment. These are
- normal fonts and not changed from the normal type face.
- I am still impressed by the improvement of the font
- quality of the latest version of Glyphix. The company furnishes
- on the basic disk four glyph font styles of Helvette, Roman, Chancelor
- and Rockland as type faces.
- The quality of the generated fonts is almost as good as that
- furnished by known companies in the business and I can't tell the
- difference between them.
- With the release of Version 2, SWFTE has also deleted the
- copyright notice in the generated fonts as well as added the name
- of the created font so that the name will print out on an HPLJ
- Series II font printout.
- I talked with the company president, David Goodman on 21
- July and he verified that SWFTE does NOT own the generated fonts.
- Of course, the program, Glyphix and the base glyphs are copyrighted.
- He stated that generated fonts may be placed in the public domain.
- Therefore, I've uploaded a small sample of their new Rockland Style
- fonts in a file called ROCGLX.ARC. These are straight 10 thru 30 point
- type faces.
- I have created my own version of font naming. The first 3
- characters are the type face, the next two are the point size, the
- 6th character is 'R' for regular upright, 'I' for italic, 'B' for
- bold and 'S' for any variation from the normal type face. The
- next is for the level of bolding from B0 to B9. The extension
- is either USP - portrait or USL for landscape mode. As an
- example: ROC12IB0.USP is Rockland, 12 point italic, no bolding, in
- portrait mode.
- The beauty of Glyphix is that you can create your own type of
- fonts with almost infinite variations of style. You can vary
- your fonts with four (or more type faces), orientation of portrait
- or landscape, point size from 4 to 60 points, expansion of width
- from 25% to 400%, changing weight of the type from -5 to 9 where 0
- is normal, fill patterns of 12 options and slanted type from the
- left or to the right up to several percent. Their ad states up to
- 200,000 variations. I believe it! With the PD set of programs from
- Jim Bumgardner called FONTFILT.ARC and FONTFLT2.ARC, you can change
- to even more variations of fonts.
- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- Glyphix is a product of:
- SWFTE International, Ltd

- Rockland, DE 19732
- (800) 237-9383
- (302) 685-1123
- . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
- And NO, I do not have any interest in the company other than
- being happy I ordered Glyphix in the first place, and being very
- happy with the results.
