- notes on lgif.exe - R. C. Allen, W5SXD - 20 October 1990
- --------------------------------------------------------
-
- LGIF (LaserGIF) takes standard .gif files and prints them using
- halftoning to a Hewlett Packard LaserJet series II printer. It
- uses a 5x5 or 5x6 pixel matrix for every pixel in the .gif file
- after converting from rgb to grey-scale. It may also blow the
- image up by 2x.
-
- 320x200 5x6 (31 shades) after scaling 2x
- 640x400 5x6 (31 shades)
- 640x480 5x5 (26 shades)
-
- For other sizes, if width less than 640 then scale 2x. If scaled
- height less than 480 then use 5x6 matrix else use 5x5.
-
- Typical prints take about 3 minutes on a 386/20 so it's a bit of a pig ...
-
- Enjoy,
-
