- Dear Customer,
-
- Enclosed are document examples that you can use to print
- envelopes on a variety of Laser printers without having to
- change the current Q&A printer driver. There are three
- documents on the enclosed disk, HPLASR.ENV, HPLASIIC.ENV
- and HPLASIIM.ENV.
-
- The first file is to be used with an HP Laserjet or Laserjet
- Plus. The others are for the HP Laserjet Series II\IID\IIP.
-
- There is also a file for the Panasonic KX P-4450 Laser
- Partner and one for the Canon LBP-8 Series.
-
- After loading the document into Write, you will notice two
- areas that have address-like information in them. The first
- one, in the upper left of the document, is for your return
- address. If you are using pre-printed envelopes you will
- want to overwrite this area with spaces. The second
- section, in the lower right, is for the mailing address.
- Here you can either type a mailing address and then press F2
- to print a single envelope or replace this area with the
- names of your merge fields if you want to merge addresses
- from File.
-
-
- NOTE: As you will probably notice, on several of the
- documents there are escape codes on the Printer
- control codes line on the Print Options screen.
-
- DO NOT REMOVE THESE CODES.
-
-
- Please call us at 408-252-5700 if you have any questions.

- Envelope Document for Q&A/Q&A Write
- -----------------------------------
-
- All of the files with a .ENV are Q&A/Q&A Write documents that
- give you more control of the envelope printing process for a
- variety of Laser printers.
-
- Copy the documents to the location where other Write documents
- are normally stored so you may access them quickly.
-
- After loading the correct document for your printer you will see
- two address blocks. The first one, in the upper left of the
- document, is for your return address. If you are using
- pre-printed envelopes, you will want to carefully overwrite this
- area with spaces (DON'T use F3 to delete it because the placement
- of other text in the document is important and deleting with F3
- would alter the placement of all text below in the document).
- The other address block, toward the lower right of the document,
- is for the mailing address. Here you can type either a specific
- mailing address or use merge fields to print addresses to
- multiple envelopes from a database. When typing in or over these
- two areas, be sure you are not in Insert mode as extra or missing
- blank lines will affect how the document prints.
-
- As you are about to print envelopes, check the following options
- to be sure that they are set correctly:
-
- -- Line Spacing should be on SINGLE
- -- the printer you are about to print to should NOT be set up
- with an envelope driver.
-
- SELECT EITHER PORTRAIT OR LANDSCAPE DEPENDING ON THE
- ORIENTATION THAT YOUR ENVELOPE TRAY FEEDS THE ENVELOPES.
-
- -- Printer Control Codes should contain a line of codes
- (DO NOT REMOVE THESE).
- Q&A or Q&A Write should print the envelope(s) with the desired
- information. It is possible to change where the return and mailing
- addresses appear, but it may take some trial and error to get these
- positioned properly.
-
- If you want to print this document, type
- copy a:\Read.Me prn
- and press (ENTER)
