  13. ZIPTEST.EXE  is a utility program for use with PC-ZIPPER. It will determine
  14. the best parameter to specify  when  using  PC-ZIPPER  on  your  particular
  15. system.

  20. Simply  run  ZIPTEST.EXE  from  the  DOS  prompt. The program tests several
  21. possible formats of PC-ZIPPER to determine which results  in  the  greatest
  22. increase  in  the  speed  of your CPU. It then informs you of which command
  23. line parameter to specify when you run PC-ZIPPER. The parameter will  be  a
  24. single letter between A and W, and will be used as follows:

  26. (if ZIPTEST.EXE suggests the 'M' parameter)    ZIP M
  27.  
  28. (if ZIPTEST.EXE suggests the 'K' parameter)    ZIP K
  29.

  33. It  is suggested that you include the file ZIP.EXE on your DOS system disk,
  34. and include the correct call to  the  program  in  your  AUTOEXEC.BAT  file.
  35. Consult your DOS manual if need more information on how to do this.

  37. The  use  of  a parameter higher than that suggested by the ZIPTEST utility
  38. will not increase the performance of PC-ZIPPER to a significant degree, and
  39. could cause errors if you have weak or defective memory chips. If  the  use
  40. of  ZIPTEST  results in a system error before completion, you probably have
  41. at least one defective memory chip.  Make  a  note  of  the  maximum  speed
  42. reached  while ZIPTEST is running, and use PC-ZIPPER with a parameter a few
  43. steps lower.

  46. are distributed as Shareware and registration is requested if you intend to
