- Before installing the GEM driver, you should have the following
- disks :
-
- o GEM program disks
- o Blank formatted disks
- o DOS Disk
- o Disks #1 and #3
-
- This disk contains all the files required for setting up Digital
- Research's GEM (2.1/2.2 or 3.0/3.1/3.13) in the 800x600 or the
- 1024x768 mode. The files are:
-
- o GEM2-54B.DRV - 800 x 600 / 16 colors - Device Driver
- for GEM 2.1 & 2.2.
- o GEM3-54B.DRV - 800 x 600 / 16 colors - Device Driver
- for GEM 3.0, 3.1 & 3.13.
- o GEM3-65B.DRV - 1024 x 768 / 16 colors - Device Driver
- for GEM 3.0, 3.1 & 3.13. This driver is
- also used for Ventura 2.0.
- - requires 512k of video memory
- o GEMDRV.EXE - Drivers installation program. This
- program is started by the main program
- VDRIVER.EXE.
- o README.GEM - This file.

- Note: The Ventura driver, VP2-67B.DRV, is used as the 1024x768
- 2-color device driver for GEM 3.0, 3.1 & 3.13.

- The setup procedure is as follows:
-
- 1/ Backup the GEM program disks. (Use the backup disks
- in the following procedures.)

- 2/ Run the VDRIVER program on Disk #1 and follow the
- instructions given by the program.
