  48.                                 INSTALLATION

  51. This software MUST be installed by using the INSTALL program that is 
  52. located on the master diskette.
  53.  
  54. Simply insert the master software disk into a floppy disk drive and enter the
  55. command: 
  56.  
  57.     <d>:INSTALL<c/r>
  58.  
  59.     where <d> is the letter of the floppy disk drive containing
  60.     the QUICKCACHE master diskette and <c/r> is the return key.
  61.  
  62. Answer the questions presented throughout the installation procedure.
  63.  
  64. The installation program will assist you in creating the proper directories
  65. and in modifying the DOS system files as appropriate.  No modifications
  66. will be made to your system without your express approval.  All proposed 
  67. changes to system files will be displayed and highlighted for you to review
  68. before accepting them.
  69.  
  70. Your target disk or diskette will need a minimum of 340,000 bytes of free
  71. space for the installed system.

  73. The master diskette should have the following files on it:

  95.                               BONUS PROGRAMS

  98. Also included in this release are several bonus programs that take 
  99. advantage of disk caching.  These programs are:
  100.  
  101.     QBACK   - hard disk backup utility.
  102.  
  103.     QSORT   - super fast ASCII file sort.
  104.  
  105.     QMAP    - document your system environment, a must if requesting
  106.               assistance from us via CompuServe.
  107.  
  108.     QMEMTST - an excellent main and extended memory test.
  109.  
  110.     QLOC    - file locator.  This program searches all native hard disk
  111.               drives for specified files.
  112.  
  113. Simply answer 'Y' during the installation process if you desire to install
  114. any of these programs.

  117.                                DOCUMENTATION

  120. The documentation files are decompressed and placed on the drive and path
  121. that you have chosen for the installation only if you elect this option.
  122.  
  123. The documentation files QCACHE.DOC and QBACK.DOC are intended to be printed
  124. on a standard printer.  Formatting control characters imbedded within the 
  125. files should be suitable for virtually any printer that you may choose to
  126. use.  Simply enter "COPY QCACHE.DOC PRN" or "COPY QBACK.DOC PRN" at the DOS
  127. prompt at the end of the installation procedure to create these documents.
  128.  
  129. QSORT.DOC, QMAP.DOC, and QLOC.DOC are smaller documentation files and may be
  130. viewed on your system console or printed on any printer.
  131.  
  132. QMEMTST.DOC is a documentation file that contains standard IBM graphics
  133. characters.  This file may be viewed on your system console, or printed
  134. on any printer that supports IBM graphics characters.
  135.  
  136.
