  2. The utility SHOW.EXE is something that I started writing some years ago,
  3. after I found out that DOS had some unpublished internal routines.

  5. I wrote code to reveal some DOS skeleton and used it personally for
  6. showing which programs were resident.

  8. v1.0:
  9. Several months after this first version, I upgraded the sources with some
  10. additional hardware check (I had these section in a seperate program and
  11. I integrated it into SHOW).

  13. v2.0:
  14. After some layout changes, they're all in table form right now, I saw an
  15. Intel 386 passing by, and wondered about the differences between processors...
  16. Well, this all lead to a processor test routine inside the hardware section
  17. of SHOW.

  19. v3.0:
  20. With so many fast machines available in advertisements, I wondered how much
  21. of this was claimed and how much was true.
  22. Speed test added into SHOW and there the release 3.6 was...
  23. After inclusion of speed information, there still was some need for detailed
  24. disk information, and then there was 3.9...
  25. Then, lots of coffee and several try-runs on different machines later,
  26. finally, 3.10 which performed (almost) correct for the DISK & DRIVE options.
