  1. COMMAND:  NU (Norton Utility)

  3. FUNCTION: Displays information stored on disks, recovers data from erased
  4.           files, and allows changes to be made to disk data.
  5.  
  6. FORMAT:   NU [d:] [options]
  7.  
  8. TYPE:     Norton Utilities command
  9.  
  10. REMARKS:  d: specifies a drive to NU, which if omitted, is the default drive.
  11.           It may be changed from within NU.
  12.           The options for NU are:
  13.  
  14.             /D0 specifies the screen driver that writes directly to the screen.
  15.             /D1 specifies a slower screen driver that uses IBM BIOS services.
  16.             /D2 specifies the slowest method that uses the ANSI.SYS driver.
  17.             /Fn sets the foreground color to n, where n is 0 to 15.
  18.             /Bn sets the background color to n, where n is 0 to 15.
  19.             /NOC suppresses the use of color on color display adapters.
  20.             /P causes only printable characters to be displayed.
  21.             /EUR specifies the European character set option.
  22.             /EBCDIC allows IBM mainframe coded data to be displayed.
  23.             /TV sets certain options to allow NU to work from within TopView.

  25.           NU is entirely menu-driven and is essentially self-explanatory. Most
  26.           of the options can be changed from within NU as follows:

  28.             Alt-F1 toggles the no-color option.
  29.             Alt-F2 toggles the non-printable character option.
  30.             Alt-F3 controls the foreground color.
  31.             Alt-F4 controls the background color.
  32.             Alt-F5 toggles the EBCDIC display mode.
  33.             Alt-F6 toggles the European character set option.
