- COMMAND: FDISK (Fixed Disk Setup)
-
- FUNCTION: Provides a menu driven facility for initializing fixed disks.
- Partitions utilized by different operating systems may be created,
- changed, deleted or displayed, and multiple fixed disks may be
- defined to the system.
-
- FORMAT: FDISK
-
- TYPE: DOS external command
-
- REMARKS: FDISK must be run for the first time with a DOS diskette in drive A.
- A new fixed disk is first partitioned with FDISK and then the DOS
- partition is formatted with the FORMAT command to contain DOS.
- Partitions that will contain other operating systems must be created
- from those systems. A 10 mb fixed disk contains 305 cylinders
- numbered 0-304 of 32k characters each. Deleting a partition destroys
- all data in that partition.
