  36.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  37.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  38.  files in a window.  After the window is
  39.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  40.  pressing the space bar.  After all files
  41.  have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  42.  process the tagged files.
  43.  
  44. *altc  !!add/update comments!!
  45.  This option will allow you to add or
  46.  update the compressed file comments.
  47.  
  48. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  49.  This option will delete all files that
  50.  are contained in the compressed file
  51.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  52.  one specified via the ALT-P command.
  53.  
  54. *alte  !!extract list!!
  55.  This option allow you to specify which
  56.  files to extract from the compressed
  57.  file. You may specify more the one
  58.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  59.  cards are allowed.
  60.  
  61. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  62.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  63.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  64.  of files in a window.  After the window
  65.  is displayed you tag the files to
  66.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  67.  After all files have been tagged press
  68.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  69.  files.
  70.  
  71. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  72.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  73.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  74.  of files in a window.  After the window
  75.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  76.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  77.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  78.  key to process the tagged files.
  79.  
  80. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  81.  This option will extract ALL NEWER files
  82.  from the compressed file into the current
  83.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  84.  the ALT-P command.
  85.  
  86. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  87.  This options allows you to specify a
  88.  disk and directory of where any
  89.  extracted files will be placed.  Specify
  90.  the extract path as follows:
  91.  DISK:\DIRECTORY Pressing any key other
  92.  than the ENTER key will clear the
  93.  extract path. To display a directory
  94.  window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  95.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the
  96.  enter key.
  97.  
  98. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  99.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  100.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  101.  the window pops up enter the first
  102.  character of the file you wish to find.
  103.  The display will be repositioned to the
  104.  first file in the list that starts with
  105.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  106.  stored in random order sort the list
  107.  first)
  108.  
  109. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  110.  This option will display the master
  111.  comment record and the file comment
  112.  records for the selected compressed
  113.  file.
  114.  
  115. *altx  !!extract all!!
  116.  This option will extract ALL files from
  117.  the compressed file into the current
  118.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  119.  the ALT-P command.
  120.  
  121. *altz  !!virus check!!
  122.  This option will check ALL .COM ,.EXE, .OVL
  123.  files to see if they have been infected with
  124.  a virus.  You must have the virus checking
  125.  program from McAfee Assoc. call SCAN.EXE
  126.  version 39 or greater, and have used the
  127.  configuration program to tell SHEZ where
  128.  to find SCAN.EXE
  129.  
  130. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  131.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  132.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  133.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  134.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  135.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  136.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  137.  compressed file contents screen.
  138.  
  139. *c  !!create-new!!
  140.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  141.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  142.  to enter the
  143.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  144.  compressed file to create, whether you
  145.  want to add or move files into the new
  146.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  147.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  148.  new compressed file.
  149.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  150.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  151.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  152.  PAK files!!!!!
  153.  
  154.  You will also be asked if you want to
  155.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  156.  the entered file spec as is.
  157.  
  158.  If the compression program you choose
  159.  supports saving path information you will
  160.  also be asked if you want to save
  161.  directory information, and if you want to
  162.  recurse the directory tree.

  165. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  166.  This option will delete all tagged files
  167.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  168.  asked to verify the delete before the
  169.  files are actually deleted from the
  170.  compressed file.

  173.  This option will extract all tagged
  174.  files from the compressed file.
  175.  
  176. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  177.  This option will activate the alternate
  178.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  179.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  180.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  181.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.

  183. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  184.  This option will set the compressed
  185.  file's time and date to the time and
  186.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  187.  the compressed file.
  188.  
  189. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  190.  This option will untag all currently
  191.  tagged files.
  192.  
  193. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  194.  This option will tag all files in the
  195.  currently displayed window.
  196.  
  197. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  198.  This option will convert a self
  199.  extracting file back to its native
  200.  compressed file format. The self
  201.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  202.  The normal compressed file will be
  203.  built on the same drive and directory
  204.  where self extracting file is found.
  205.  
  206. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  207.  This option allows you to copy all
  208.  tagged files from the current compressed
  209.  file into another compressed file.  The
  210.  target compressed file may be any
  211.  currently supported format.
  212.  
  213. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  214.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  215.  drop you off into disk and directory
  216.  that is specified as the extract
  217.  location.
  218.  
  219. *d  !!delete one file!!
  220.  This option will delete the currently
  221.  highlighted file from the compressed
  222.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  223.  delete before the delete is actually
  224.  done.
  225.  
  226. *e  !!extract one file!!
  227.  This option will extract the currently
  228.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  229.  drive and directory, or the
  230.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  231.  the ALT-P command.
  232.  
  233. *f      !!freshen!!
  234.  Using this option you can specify the
  235.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  236.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  237.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  238.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  239.  extensions.

  241. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  242.  This option will temporarily exit to
  243.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  244.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  245.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  246.  the return key.
  247.  
  248. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  249.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  250.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  251.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  252.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  253.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  254.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  255.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  256.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  257.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  258.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  259.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  260.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  261.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  262.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  263.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  264.  
  265. *f8  !!edit!!
  266.  This option will allow you to edit a
  267.  file in the compressed file.  This
  268.  option will only work if you specified
  269.  an editor to use when you configured
  270.  compressedPER.
  271.  
  272. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  273.  Using this option you can specify how
  274.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  275.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  276.  Extension, or Date.
  277.  
  278. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  279.  These options allow you to set the
  280.  compression factor that will be used by
  281.  the ZIP program.  You may choose a
  282.  factor for ASCII files and one for
  283.  BINARY files.  If you are using version
  284.  .92 or greater of PKZIP you may choose
  285.  one of the Maximize options listed
  286.  instead of choosing the ASCII or BINARY
  287.  compression factor options.

  344.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  345.  files in file, total size of all files,
  346.  time and date of compressed file, etc.

  351.  compressed file. You may enter multiple

  420.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  421.  extract a file from the compressed file.

  424.  This option allows you to specify if you
  425.  want to save and/or use path information
  426.  when working with compressed files.
  427.  
  428. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  429.  This option will immediately exit
  430.  SHEZ.

  432. *r  !!run a file!!
  433.  This option will extract and run the
  434.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  435.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  436.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  437.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  438.  deleted.

  440. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  441.  This option allows you to add and or
  442.  update the comment records associated
  443.  with the currently highlighted file.
  444.  
  445. *sft-s  !!add/update file comments!!
  446.  This option allows you to add and or
  447.  update the comment records assocaited
  448.  with each file in the compressed file.
  449.  
  450. *t  !!test compressed!!
  451.  This option will test the integrity of
  452.  the compressed file.
  453.  
  454. *u       !!update!!
  455.  Using this option you can specify the
  456.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  457.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  458.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  459.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  460.  extensions.
  461.  
  462. *v  !!view!!
  463.  This option will allow you to view the
  464.  contents of a file in the compressed
  465.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  466.  to view the file.
  467.  
  468. *z  !!mask!!
  469.  This option allows you to specify a file
  470.  mask to be used when displaying the
  471.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  472.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  473.  only the files having an extension of C
  474.  will be displayed on the screen.
  475.  
  476. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  477.  This option will invoke the editor that
  478.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  479.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  480.  the editor.
  481.  
  482. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  483.  This option will delete all files that
  484.  have been tagged in the file window.
  485.  After all the files are deleted the file
  486.  window will be refreshed.
  487.  
  488. *mf3  !!view file!!
  489.  This option allows you to view the
  490.  highlighted file.
  491.  
  492. *mf4  !!delete file!!
  493.  This option allows you to delete the
  494.  highlighted file.  You will be prompted
  495.  to verify the delete.

  497. *mf5  !!file stats!!
  498.  This option will display the highlighted
  499.  file's time,date,and size.

  501. *mf6  !!file sort!!
  502.  This option will sort the file list by
  503.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  504.  depending on how you reply to the sort
  505.  prompt. Enter a N, E, or D.
  506.  
  507. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  508.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  509.  the highlighted file.
  510.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  511.  from all tagged files.
  512.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are

  515. *malt-c  !!add/update file comments!!
  516.  This option allows you to add and or update
  517.  file comment records in all tagged
  518.  compressed files. You will be prompted for a
  519.  data file that contains the comment
  520.  record(s) you wish to add.
  521.  
  522. *malt-d  !!show file dates!!
  523.  This option will display the file dates
  524.  in the file list window.  Pressing the
  525.  ALT-S key will change the display to show
  526.  the file sizes.
  527.  
  528. *malt-s  !!show file sizes!!
  529.  This option will display the file sizes
  530.  in the file list window.  Pressing the
  531.  ALT-D key will change the display to show
  532.  the file dates.
  533.  
  534. *malt-v  !!convert one file!!
  535.  This option will convert the highlighted
  536.  archive file from one format archive to
  537.  another format archive. You will be
  538.  asked if you want to delete the original
  539.  archive file after the conversion is
  540.  complete.
  541.  
  542. *mctl-v  !!convert tagged!!
  543.  This option will convert all tagged
  544.  archive file(s) from one format archive
  545.  to another format archive. You will be
  546.  asked if you want to delete the original
  547.  archive file(s) after the conversion is
  548.  complete.
  549.  
  550. *malt-r  !!reread directory!!
  551.  This option will reread the current
  552.  directory and refresh the displayed file
  553.  list.
  554.  
  555. *malt-w  !!write cfg file!!
  556.  This option will write the current SHEZ
  557.  configuration options out to a file
  558.  named SHEZ.CFG.  The file will be written
  559.  to the current disk:\directory.  This file
  560.  will be used by the SHEZCFG program to set
  561.  the default SHEZ program options when you
  562.  configure SHEZ.
  563.  
  564. *malt-z  !!virus check!!

  583.  This option allows you to move the
  584.  highlighted file. You will be prompted
  585.  to enter file destination information.
  586.  The highlighted file will be copied to
  587.  the entered destination and then deleted
  588.  from the current location.

  590. *mctl-f6  !!rename file!!
  591.  This option allows you to rename the
  592.  highlighted file. You will be prompted
  593.  to enter new filename information.
  594.  You must at least enter a filename and
  595.  extension in the TO: field.
  596.  
  597. *msfx !!copy,move,delete,rename tagged files!!
  598.  This option will copy,move,delete, or
  599.  rename all files that have been tagged in
  600.  the file window. After all the files are
  601.  operated on, the file window will be
  602.  refreshed.
  603.  
  604. *print !!help for print!!
  605.  This option will print the currently
  606.  highlighted file.  If you are working
  607.  with an ARC,ZOO,LZH or PAK file output
  608.  will always go to the DOS PRN device.
  609.  
  610. *nomatch  !!no matching file found!!
  611.  No matching files where found in the directory that is displayed
  612.  in the information window.  Pressing ESC will exit SHEZ, pressing
  613.  F2 will allow you to create a compressed file, and pressing
  614.  F3 allows you to specify a new DISK:\DIRECTORY to look at.
  615.
