  7.     This file is updated with each new release of our software and
  8.     contains information important to the correct operation of the
  9.     newest versions.

  11.     Note that NARCCFG.EXE and ARCCFG.EXE are NOT shareware programs
  12.     and may not be released to the public.
  13.  
  14.     SEE THE IDCSHELL.REV and NARC.REV text files for information
  15.     about important differences about the current versions and
  16.     supplemental information not found in the manuals.

  19.     BEFORE you run NARC release 3.0 or IDCshell 2.1, you should set
  20.     the following variables up in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Note that
  21.     you  must fill in paths that exist on your system.

  24.     IMPORTANT NOTE:
  25.             For IDCshell ver. 2.1 and above and
  26.                     NARC ver. 2.5 and above, all environment variables
  27.             MUST include the file extension. (EXE,COM etc.)
  28.  
  29.     Note that NARCHELP,IDCTEMP, IDCED and IDCARCPATH can be configured
  30.     using the new NARCCFG program that comes with the registered
  31.     version of NARC.

  33.     NARCHELP=c:\util\narchelp.hlp        (so NARC can find the help file)
  34.     
  35.     IDCED=c:\wordproc\editor.ext        (so NARC can run your editor)
  36.     
  37.     IDCTEMP=e:\ramdisk            (for NARC's temporary files)
  38.     
  39.     IDCARCPATH=e:\idc\idcshell.exe      (for NARC to find IDCshell)

  41.     NARCPATH=e:\idc\narc.exe            (for IDCshell to find NARC)

  46.     NARC release 3.0 is the first IDC product to support ZIP files.
  47.     IDCshell zip 3.0 will be released sometime in June 1989 and will
  48.     build ONLY ZIP files.
