- The file VALID.EXE is being included on a trial basis. There are no
- command-line parameters. The simplest way to use it is to type VALID
- after first making sure that both VALID.EXE and a file named DIRX.EXE
- is in the current directory. VALID looks in the current directory
- for a file named DIRX.EXE and, if found, checks it to see if it's an
- unmodified copy of Version 1.00.
-
- Is it foolproof? No, but as long as your copy of VALID is an
- original, untampered with, current copy, it provides a high degree of
- assurance that the DIRX.EXE file contained in the current directory
- is the most recent, untampered with copy of the program - if VALID so
- indicates.
-
- If you like the idea of my including an updated VALID.EXE file with
- future releases, I encourage you to make your preferences known to
- me, as maintaining a current copy with each new release does entail
- some "overhead" on my part that did not exist before... If no one, or
- only a few users, express a preference for its inclusion, then I may
- discontinue including it in future releases.
