  1. PC LABS BENCHMARK SERIES VERSION 5.1
  2. WHAT'S NEW
  3.  
  4. The following changes and improvements appear in version 5.1:

  6.    1. Previous versions of the PC Labs Benchmark Series had a test
  7.       called "Time the Timer." This test allowed the user to check
  8.       the accuracy of the internal system clock. This test has been
  9.       incorporated under the "HELP" menu and is now called "Timer
  10.       Accuracy Test."
  11.  
  12.    2. The DOS Disk Access Test would occasionally abort with a "20C"
  13.       error code. This error ocurred when an attempt is made to read a
  14.       bad disk sector. Version 5.1 addresses this problem by
  15.       substituting a good disk sector for the bad one and restarting the
  16.       test.

  18.    3. The results can now be viewed on the screen as well as seved to
  19.       file. A new menu, "VIEW," has been added with "Results" as a
  20.       selection. The results can be scrolled using the PgUp, PgDn, Home,
  21.       End, Up Cursor, and Down Cursor keys. Hitting Esc exits the display.

  23.    4. A prompt has been added to allow the user to specify a file name
  24.       when saving the results. The default filename, "PCLABS.ASC," will
  25.       be used is a new file name is not entered.

  27.    5. The Help text has been altered to reflect the above changes.
