  1. After the original VEDIT hit the pages of BYTE magazine in 1980 it became the
  2. #1 programmer's editor virtually overnight.  In January 1982, VEDIT was the
  3. first editor available for the revolutionary IBM PC.  Since then, tens of

  35. The VEDIT Family of editors are written entirely in assembly language and

  76. The VEDIT Family editors support the IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2 and clones with CGA,
  77. MGA, EGA, VGA, Wyse 700, Amdek 1280 and other displays.  The IBM PC version
  78. also supports Concurrent DOS, DESQview, Microsoft Windows, PC-MOS/386 and most
  79. networks.

  81. A generic MS-DOS version runs on non-IBM type computers and on CRT terminals
  82. connected to an IBM PC via serial lines and modems.

  84. The UNIX/XENIX version supports most variations of UNIX running on Intel
  85. 80286/80386/80486 processors.

  87. The VEDIT family is also available for the FlexOS and IBM 4680 operating
  88. systems.  A version for Quantum QNX and a special mode to emulate "vi" 100%
  89. will be available in December 1990.  Support for OS/2 is also planned.
