  1. This note was recieved with FF Forth 1/20/88:

  3. Thank you for ordering FF.  Here is the latest release of FF,  it is
  4. still in BETA form, due to the documentation cleanup required.  I am 
  5. sending it to you now because I don't know when I will get the time
  6. to clean up the documentation.  Robert L. Smith is still working on
  7. the Software Floating Point, and will not be done soon, so I felt no
  8. need to wait for it.  This version is fairly stable and has a LOT of
  9. Memory available for programs and data.  Distribute this if you wish,
  10. it is I think a substantial improvement over PF.

  14. P.S. I have included a copy of HF per your request, I do not use HF
  15. for anything myself, so development on it has not proceeded at the
  16. same pace as FF.  You have been warned!

  20.  I (Fred) found  7 FF files on the two disks; to facilitate bbs 
  21. distribution I have ARCed the 5 smaller files into 2 .ARC files
  22. so there are 4 .ARC files in the upload directory:

  26. FF.ARC        231K  \ The FF Forth system

  29. The intro file refers to ( and PF included) a file that was not on the disks:
  30. MODROW.ARC    (PF: 28K)  \ Some tools from Jerry Modrow
  31. Until requested I won't upload HF Forth; I expect it to use blocks.
  32. A quick check showed that PC! is faulty (as in PF) suggesting that OUT 
  33. assembles wrong. Again note that this is a *BETA* version.
  34. I expect NCFB bbs (below) to host discussions of FF...  Enjoy!
