  1. These diskettes contain files for Version 7 of Icon for MS-DOS as follows:

  3.     arc.exe        archiving utility
  4.     tranlink.arc    archived translator and linker [126KB]
  5.         ficonx.arc    archived fixed-regions executor [309KB]
  6.         eiconx.arc    archived expandable-regions executors [423KB]
  7.     icondocs.arc    archived documents [107KB]
  8.     samples.arc    archived sample programs and data [3KB]

  10. The figures in brackets indicate the approximate amount of disk space
  11. needed for the unloaded files. It is not necessary to unload all the
  12. executors. The smallest one occupies about 153KB of disk space.

  14. The executable files should be unloaded on a place on your PATH specification.
  15. For example, if this diskette is mounted in your A drive and you set
  16. your current directory to where you want the files, the following
  17. unloads the translator, linker, and command processor:

  19.     a:arc x a:tranlink.arc
  20.  
  21. There are four possible executors. The simplest executor can be
  22. unloaded and given its standard name by
  23.  
  24.     a:arc x a:ficonx.arc ficonx.exe
  25.     rename ficonx.exe iconx.exe
  26.

  28. icondocs.arc.

  30. The documents and sample programs can be unloaded in a similar fashion
  31. to the executable files.
