  20.    Why support the Tech Ref instead of relying on one of those public domain
  21.  "interrupt lists"?  Sheer size, for one. Even in LHarc format the Tech Ref
  22.  bulks out to over a megabyte, making it too large for many sysops to consider
  23.  keeping online.  You'll get support from me via my BBS or various commercial
  24.  services.  You get the very latest edition of this manual on disk, with no
  25.  worries about corrupted or tampered text.  The Tech Ref is a quality product,
  26.  in use by the US Navy, CalTech, Borland, NEC, Wang, General Motors, Citcorp,
  27.  Rockwell, Honeywell, Digital Research, Central Point, hospitals, universities,
  28.  and government agencies around the world.

  30.   The Registered User reference consists of three 360k diskettes of the
  31.  reference, appendices, references and sample source code. That's about three
  32.  megabytes of raw data when uncompressed, or several times larger than the
  33.  shareware version.

  35.   The Registered User version contains information on device drivers, mouse
  36.  programming, Virtual Control Program Interface, Microsoft Windows, hard 
  37.  drives, hardware information, virus and Trojan programs, EMS 3.2, LIM 4.0,
  38.  EEMS 3.2, CD-ROM, network programming, DOS 3.31 and 4.0, and more.

  40.   Registered users may obtain updates by merely mailing a set of disks and
  41.  a mailer with return postage, or a flat $7 for a new set of disks and
  42.  postage. Significant changes will probably accumulate over the course of a
  43.  couple of months.

  45.   Several people who have downloaded copies over two years old have written to 
  46.  see if I was still supporting the Reference. The answer is yes. Not only that, 
  47.  but my book contract calls for keeping the information current. If you're 
  48.  concerned, just drop a postcard.
